excuse my absence

Life has taken me away from my quilting blog, it was already a pretty busy year, with the addition of our fourth child, but then we decided to move, again, back to texas, and my life is just now starting to feel normal.  I am almost unpacked, and we are starting to feel at home.

I honestly feel like I miss this blog and my quilting friends, I hope to be back here more often this year!

I have found time to quilt, and have a few to show here on my blog that I finished back before we put our house on the market (and I had to put my sewing machine away)...
 swoon!

this quilt is big, so excuse my not so pretty pictures.  It's an oversized queen, and very difficult to photograph.  I love this quilt, it was fun for me.  I made it for my daughters bed.
I stuck with a blue and pink pallette.
I opted to send it out to have it quilted, my first time ever, and what a treat that was!  It turned out perfectly, and I probably wouldn't have finished it otherwise.  I had Emily of Emerson Quilting do it for me and it looks sooo good, and she was FAST!
I bound it in a blue and white stripe.
I let my daughter pick the backing...pink mermaids, from sarahjane (I love everything she does!)

  6. This is a really pretty one. Makes me rethink my decision what to do in January. I don't want to start a new quilt, but I still haven't got my own swoon one....

  8. What an absolute beauty! The colors are great too and not overly girly. Someday I'll have to send a quilt out. I do love that quilting style.
