new starts

I'm sure you've seen this one around, the scrappy trip along.  I didn't think I wanted to join, but once I saw everyone elses, I just couldn't resist.  I am so happy I did.  This is one fun quilt to put together.  It's fast and you can use just about any combination of fabric...it all works.  I have to say that I haven't enjoyed making a quilt as much as I did this one in a LONG time.  I am now waiting for some supplies so I can finish it off.

There's a trick, so don't be intimidated.  Here's a tutorial if you want to try it out.
Then Megan started another quilt and I thought I could resist starting that one too, but it looked too good, and I enjoyed using scraps in my scrappytrip quilt, so I started that one too.  And again, it's fun.  This one is a little more time consuming, but not much.  Once you get going, it can go pretty fast.

This is just a sneak peak, for a new nephew born a week or so ago.  I don't want his mom to see it, so this is all you get.
And finally, I have a bin of triangle scraps, you know the ones, that is overflowing, so I started putting those together.  This will just be an ongoing project.  They are cute though, 2.5 inches.  We'll see what they become, they would make great placemats...

  11. I love the xplus, thought I'd try it as a mini quilt to practice free motion quilting on but a quilt-a-long is tempting!
