I have been making potholders lately! My first attempt at potholders, and they are FUN! I used this tutorial, because they are just too cute. I love the houses, and I love the rounded-ness of them.
These will go to friends and neighbors and teachers for Christmas, and I'm trying to convince myself that I don't have to include goodies with them. This is enough right?? Every year I tell myself I want to give something besides sweets, there's just so much of it at this time of year, but every year it just seems so necessary!
In her tutorial, nanette suggests making dozens of them...and I am! I may be over-doing it, but I keep thinking of someone else that I want to give something to. Plus I want some left over for myself!
oh my gosh - these are too cute! I just wrote on my to-do list "potholders" and was looking at tutorials online! Love yours!! And yes, these are enough to give - they will all be delighted!
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable!! I might have to make some for Christmas presents (or for myself). Thanks for posting
ReplyDeleteEEEk! Those are the cutest potholders ever! Thanks for sharing the tute link - I'll be making these for sure one day.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! I love the rounded corners, too. I made a bunch but haven't put the binding on yet- I think I will be rounding them off! No miters! Yay!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I love the little houses.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I want to try some more potholder now....right now :)
ReplyDeleteum...don't you have your sister jamie for christmas this year? i bet she would love some ;).
ReplyDeletereally, i love these. and i love all homemade potholders...way better than storebought ones for some reason.
Those are so cute! Tons of personality. What a cheerful addition to anyone's kitchen. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable - and no, they don't need anything sweet with them, they are sweet enough on their own!!!
ReplyDeleteagreed. Potholders will suffice. Anyone worth gifting will realize all the time and care you put into them! Sides, they are just going to want to go bake with them. Don't take away their excuse =)
ReplyDeleteADORABLE, nettie!! i LOVE them!!
ReplyDeleteLovely, and I really like the rounded corners. No corners to dip into dishes and no miters to fiddle with.
ReplyDeletethey are so cute I wouldn't actully use them as pot holders I would just hang them to look at ,wouldn't want to spoil them, xoxo theodora

I just went and pulled out a bunch a fabric to make this with...and now I see that your "grass" is the same fabric I chose for mine. I must have subconciously noticed it.
ReplyDelete...but the only "people" fabric I have is going in my red riding hood quilt...so my house is going to have deer in it!
These are more than enough your just the same as me always wanting to add more. They are adorable well done you, you have done such a good job Anybody will be so pleased to get them. Dee x

ReplyDeleteif you *must* include goodies- may i suggest a cookie in a jar type thing?
ReplyDeleteyou know those mason jars with everything in it- just add egg and water or something.
