I'm feeling a little guilty about finishing a quilt when my house feels somewhat disorganized and cluttered from our move, but I had fun anyway. It was inspired by this quilt. Completely made up of scraps (except the white and the binding and backing...hmm, I guess just the squares are scraps). This one will go to a new baby niece. Born just days after Christmas.

I realize this picture is blurry, but the little red ridinghood fabric (on the right) is one of my all time favorites. I use it very sparingly.

and the backing, pink, red and brown dots.

Aww- it's so beautiful! I'm so glad you're back- I've missed reading about your projects! :)
The quilt is gorgeous! I love that color combo. I always seem to find time to quilt when I have other things to do- funny how that works isn't it? Making quilts with what you have in your stash is the best!
Love the backing! What fabric is it?
Such a sweet quilt, great colour combo. I'm sure it will be loved and cherished.
That red-riding hood fabric is adorable. I have a pile where I keep adding red, white and aqua (and pink) fabric from my stash. Thanks for the motivation to do something with it!
I seem to quilt all the time with chaos around me. Somehow it brings me comfort to see some permanent progress on something, when the rest of my life lacks visible evidence that I've been working all day. :) Good luck settling in your new home!
Hi MB,
the backing is from Denyse Schmidt's flea market fancy line.
as always, you've produced something that just blows me away. your style is so inspiring to me. colorful, crisp, lovely. and i've been a fan of your blog for awhile but somehow i missed the fact that you were down here in the houston area too. of course, didn't find that out until you moved. not like i would drop by your house if i had known, but anyway... so um, yes, beautiful quilt. i love it:)
So so beautiful!! I always love your stuff so much!!

Well, I just have to say that this quilt is cherished and loved and used. Each time I go to Sarah's I just pull it out and stare at it. I must admit, I didn't notice the Little Red Riding Hood fabric. :( I will next time though! My favorite fabric was the gold fish with the names and the (is it a) scuba diver... it just cracked me up. I do love your quilts. I wish I was a niece! Thank you from Gramma K! At least I get to wrap 'em up in it when I'm there and enjoy them that way. :)
I found your quilt on flickr...don't remember how. It inspired me to make similar blocks in more masculine colors...I am posting about it, with a link to your post, on my blog

today!
