disappearing nine patch

i've seen so many disappearing nine patch quilts lately, and have decided to try one myself. at first i didn't know if i liked this pattern, but this, this and this (and others) have convinced me that i do. one more.

it's not only a SUPER easy pattern, but a great way to use up charm packs that seem to accumulate. for this quilt i'm using charm packs from Tula Pink's, Nest line. i am smitten with how clever she is. she "hides" things in her designs, birds in this line...insects in her flutterby line.
very clever.
and i also really LOVE the colors... a few close ups:

  10. Funny I should read your blog today, I am teaching a class on that pattern this morning at the quilt Shop I work for. Should be getting ready instead of reading blogs!
I actually made a tutorial for this a while back when I had my baby.

Good job on your pretty quilt.

  12. Love the fabrics in this quilt-so fun to see this pattern made in different fabrics! I've made this quilt, a few times, too, although I made it using the "Tossed Nine Patch" Signature Pattern by Eleanor Burns. You can see mine on my flickr page:

  14. Oh yes, I just love this pattern & have been hooked on it for months. I've made many using charm packs of Maypole, Prairie Paisley, Simplicity, Portugal, Woodland Bloom, Merry & Bright, Summers Basket of Flowers, etc. Did I mention I was hooked on charm packs & this pattern? LOL I love how quickly the quilt goes together & you can make it any size you want by just making more blocks. I love your Nest quilt!

  19. I feel very dumb but are you talking about nine patches made from charm squares that are cut or not cut?
If not cut then I assume you are using 9 differnt charms in each block???
Would love to know as I have heaps of charm squares.
