I started this quilt so long ago, it's almost embarrassing (3 years). I don't know why some quilts sit unfinished for so long, I think I just get tired of them and need to put them away, but it actually ended up being a really great quilt.
I used a Good Folks fat quarter bundle, by Anna Maria Horner to make it. I do love that line, such great colors.
This was a quilt along with amandajean, so of course it turned out great.
I used what I had for the back...since the top was made from a fq bundle, I didn't have any significant pieces to use on the back, I tried to just match colors. It worked out fine. At one point I regretted my decision to put the fuchia mermaids in it, and almost ripped them out to use on another project, but I couldn't bring myself to redo it.
I quilted it in spirals, all over, and I really enjoyed it. They were fun. I'm so happy to have this one finished!
Now I wish I'd stocked up on Good Folks - it's such a lovely quilt.

ReplyDeleteFunny. I just posted about how it has taken me two years to finish a project. You just have to be in the right mood at the right time to work on a piece. They all get done in the end. Gorgeous quilt - great finish.
ReplyDeletelooks fantastic!

ReplyDeleteIt is so darling. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous! I sometimes put things away if I'm not feeling the love- I figure thats better than ruining it or hating it when it's done! I love the backing too.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. So bright and happy!
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow. This quilt is stunning! I think we all have projects that sit unfinished for ages. My problem is that I am constantly inspired by projects like this - so I drop my current project to start another! Oh well. It's all part of the process...
