I've been gone from the computer for a while, first our internet wasn't working and then we were out of town. I had hoped to post this before we left, but it just didn't work out.
I am going to be totally honest here, I LOVE this quilt. I only wish I had made it bigger, it's pretty small, baby size. I want to make another that's throw size. I'm not sure I will though. Maybe if I make the geese bigger.
I repeated the rainbow theme on the back.
My pink-loving know-it-all kindergartener informed me that pink isn't really part of the rainbow. and she's right, but I do like it with pink.
I bound it in white, which goes against EVERYTHING I know as a mother. Kids are messy! The less white the better, but I couldn't come up with a better alternative. I do love the white, and the little piece of rainbow on the binding. Hopefully it won't get too dirty.
it's beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteOh,it's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! That gives me good ideas for a rainbow color block swap that I'm in. Jenn
ReplyDeleteVery Vibrant! I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful :) I am *really* wanting to make one of these
ReplyDeletewell, the white just means it will get washed a lot and be nice and snuggly. ;) It's soo beautiful. And I think Pink is a perfectly acceptable color for a rainbow. lol
ReplyDeleteAck! Love it! It's absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I did a little rainbow hexagon piecing for a swap partner and realized I am missing a lot of shades of the rainbow. If I ever want to make a quilt like this (and I do!) I will have to make add a lot of red, true blue and kelly green to my stash. It's funny, I love all those colours, but I don't have much of them.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm a little afraid to make a geese quilt, but starting out small might just be the motivation I need to get my butt in gear!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the pieced back is ahh-mazing!
Happy Quilting!

ReplyDeleteThat rainbow rocks my boat with or without PINK! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love the little patch of hears on the back side. I made a geese quit for my nephew, it was oranges and yellows with a construction theme. It's a fun pattern to make.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel about the white binding but there's so much white in the rest of the quilt, it'll need washed often in any case. Love this happy quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteIncredible! I just love it. I don't stop by to comment on your quilts nearly enough, but I always enjoy seeing what you're crafting.
ReplyDeleteI love it so much! especially those rainbow bits in the binding! :) definitely make another!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely darling! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteHad to comment on this one, it is lovely. There is a no-waste geese method, maybe try that for faster piecing? You would end up with more geese of the same color but you did want a larger quilt next time.... :)
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty! I am quilting up my rainbow 9-patch right now and the back is also rainbow kind of, but pastel rainbow. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love it!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love the color order on the diagonal. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love this too! I'm working on my own little rainbow quilt right now. What's that little piece of rainbow fabric you pieced into the binding? Thanks!!

ReplyDeleteThat is sooo pretty. I love the way the colours change accross the quilt! I am new to quilting - and things like this inspire me to keep going and push myself that bit further than I think I can go. Can't wait to see some of the dear jane quilt!!!!
ReplyDeletePink is in my rainbow! Love the quilt.
ReplyDeleteIn this case I think the quilt is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! And the rainbow of colours means you don't have to choose, you can have them all - how clever!

ReplyDeletelooks wonderful. i especially like the back!
ReplyDeleteIf you do a geese quilt any larger, the blocks would have to be larger. Proportion and all that, or at least that's the excuse to use.

What a really pretty quilt. I think it would look great if you made it to fit on a queen size bed.
ReplyDeleteAs a kindergarten teacher, I got a giggle out of your little one's rainbow thinking. The quilt is absolutely beautiful, and I really do love that bit of rainbow on the binding!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt with smaller triangular patterns. It must have been very tiring to sew.
