projects

it's already a new year!!! can you believe it, so far this year is just flying by.  I spent the first 2 weeks sick.  it was awful, I felt like I was pregnant again (which I'm not).  Even being sick, I managed to still do some sewing.
I made a whole slew of bibs (again).  I just love them, i've had several requests for them, and it's almost as easy to make 1 as it is to make 10.  plus, these are great to have around for a simple baby gift.  I've listed them in my shop.
*bib pattern found here.
I even used some of my sherbet pips scraps.
I also made some more potholders, i do love these potholders.  they are big, and cute.  These are also great to have around to give away. tutorial here.
and I made yet another zigzag quilt.  this is exactly like the first one I made.  I received an email asking if I could duplicate this quilt.  I was lucky enough to find all the fabrics...many of them are out of print. I used this tutorial, and LOVE this quilt.  I don't tire of zig zags.
Turns out, my first finish of 2011 is a duplicate.  that's okay right?  it's all about the process.
my first one here, and 2nd here.

Oh, and I also ordered a Blythe doll.  I just adore all the cuteness that I see!  I'm also a little scared to admit I bought a doll.  At least I have a daughter to blame it on.

I Missed You. Hope you're feeling better. I like to visit your blog because I enjoy seeing how you use bright colors and small fun prints. Also the way you play bright colors up with white. Your projects are striking and fun.

Love everything! The zig zag is great - definitely on my to-do-list. I must wait for kids of my own to start buying all of the softies and dolls I want for myself... crossing my fingers for girls...

Everything you've made is just as pretty as can be, and don't feel a bit bad about buying a doll. I never do, and I'm a lot older than you!

I think those potholders are awesome!! And so is the zigzag quilt.

they are all adorable! Your potholders are especially lovely - what sweet little houses. If only I had some babies to make bibs for - mind you, our puppy needs one for the car - she drools terribly from carsickness - I wonder if she'd wear a bib ... :-)

Thanks for sharing where you got your pattern! I ordered it yesterday. I've been wanting to make some bibs after seeing yours...but hate to be a copy cat! Now I don't have to feel bad! I like to support other hard working mamas! So thanks to J Casa too! But I might just have to copy those pot holders...so cute!

I used your tutorial to make one almost exactly like this. I love the Mendocino line, and I, too, adore zigzags. It's basted but not quilted yet.

I love looking through your blog! All your patterns/tutorials are wonderful! I was just wondering what fabric you used for the doors on the potholders. Those little girls are adorable!

How did you quilt your zigzag quilt together? I'm new to quilting and I love the way it looks. Would I need to take it somewhere to get that quilt design?
