with the help of my block party friends, my little boy now has a quilt for his big bed...I LOVE this quilt.
I wasn't sure about the quilting when I first pulled it out of the dryer, but on the bed, I absolutely love it.
currently my kids are playing musical beds (not sleeping in their own beds), so the quilt is actually on my daughters bed. She loves the horse stuff on the back. I chose this print because the fabric is so, so soft.
thanks to the great ladies who contributed to this quilt, I love every square..
Wow, that looks absolutely fabulous! I love the random placement of the blocks in plenty of white.
ReplyDeleteMy next quilt is definitely going to have plenty of white - the hand pieced one I'm working on is all about the colour saturation!
Love this quilt, what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting. How on Earth did you do it? ....so I can do it on one of mine. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes- this is gorgeous!! lovely! And great photo of the little one jumping on the bed- cute!
ReplyDeletegreat quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors!
this is such an amazing quilt. it looks so great on the bed.
ReplyDeleteThose green blocks against the solid fabric are really stunning. They just pop. And the kids are adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove it Net. Also, have I mentioned how much I like that pear fabric. I've used it for a bag, and I also saw a quilt you made for Emily that had the orange version on it.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is my absolute favorite, Nettie!
ReplyDeleteOh it looks so gooooood! I love the way you put the blocks together. Love it!
ReplyDeletelove the green!
ReplyDeleteKudos on the quilt finish ---- but what really caught my attention was the framed "First Down" print. That's my favorite Norman Rockwell, right up there with "Day in the Life of a Boy" and "Day in the Life of a Girl." I've been hanging on to these for when/if I ever have kids of my own. I just love 'em!
ReplyDeleteWow, I *adore* this quilt. Everything is perfect...the colors, the block shapes/sizes/setting, the white space, the binding...and the quilting is awesome.
ReplyDeleteWould love to know more about how you quilted this...advance plan? Change-direction-as-you-go?
I love it too. Love the color combo, love the block style, and the back looks great on it. LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteHi Nettie, I love Calvin's quilt!! And how fun to see Calvin! jumping on the bed, no less. I love your non-traditional creativity. When our kids were the ages of yours, I had their rooms done up so cute, with matching curtains and dust ruffles. At night when I'd go check on them, I'd find all three in the same bed. Connor says to tell your husband hi, and that he's 6'5" now. LOL miss you!
ReplyDeleteHow refreshing not to see the same 3 inch white sashing around a 12 inch block! Great layout and I love, love, love the quilting!
ReplyDeleteit's wonderful! i love the shot of your little guy jumping on the bed...and the one of the quilt hanging from the tree. lovely, lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. The green is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI just love those vivid greens mixed in with the greys and white! That is one spectacular quilt and your son is a lucky kid!!

Well it is lovely. Modernish but really cute for a kids room. It can grow with him.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome quilt. Right up my alley with all the fun placement and "abnormal-ish" blocks. I like the quilting, it seems to just go with all the funkiness of the quilt. :)
