i am so excited about this quilt. i started this blog when i joined amandajean's star quilt along (over a year ago). it took me forever to finally put the top together, and i don't know why! i love it, but it's going to have to wait a while, i'm not going to baste anymore quilts before the baby. it's too hard to get down on my hands and knees...especially one this big. i'm looking forward to it though, it might just be a new favorite.
oh, this is so stunning! i love the colors, it is simple and cheery. so perfect.
ReplyDeleteNo belly shots to share? Hope you are feeling well....

i can't imagine any other way.

It's beautiful. My top has been done for a while but I'm a little overwhelmed by the size of it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful!! you did a great job! i love the blue/orange mix!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so great! Now you're motivating me to work on my blocks more...but they are down on the list of projects :(
ReplyDeleteThat's a great top! I love the colors:-)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are really beautiful! They are very cheerful and the blue/orange/white is such a great combination.
ReplyDeleteNettie, that is gorgeous... I see a block or two there I may have to copy!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose. I'm laughing about basting with a belly...I gave it up a month ago too (and should have not done my last quilt).
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! The color combination is great. That's a happy quilt.
ReplyDeleteAmy
Oh, that is just fabulous; love the colour combination and the white background that really makes the colours pop!!
ReplyDeleteNettie, It's awesome. Good luck with the baby!

ReplyDeleteWow! I love it! You picked the perfect colors.
ReplyDeletewow, this is so stunning!! very, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!! The colour combo is one of my favourites, and stars are a new fave of mine! Very very nicely done :) Don't blame you for not wanting to baste this right now!
ReplyDeleteI pinned a quilt together when I was nearly 7 months along, and it was awful! Bending over on the floor like that made me have to pee all the time! Kudos to you for finishing it!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange and blue!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt, I love the colours and layout. It is a big quilt to quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful quilt! There are other ways to baste rather than being on the floor - trust me I know! Good luck with both the quilt and the new baby :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! The colors are so fresh and bright. Can you put the quilt on a dining room table to baste? Too bad it would have to wait.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt really appeals to my star obsession , I love it !!
ReplyDeleteColours are perfect !!
Basting is my least favorite part of quilting. The stars are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of white--but wow! This works! It really makes the blue and orange work. Truly lovely.
ReplyDeleteoh, nettie!!!! you made this pattern shine!!! i LOVE it so very much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little quilt!
ReplyDeletethis is one of my favorite quilts I think I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteIts just lovely! I have used the spray and it does work!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I basted a quilt at 8 mo preggo with my son. Never again!
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful quilt! I wish I could help you baste it.
ReplyDeleteI love your colors & simplicity! Beautiful
ReplyDeleteOne of the best out of that bunch from the quilt along. I'm particularly partial to that colour combo.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in these last few weeks.
aaaahhhh. The colors are simply glorious and your use of white space really lets then shine. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! And I love your blog, by the way! You are very inspiring! I think it's great that you are spending so much time quilting before your baby comes. My baby (my fourth) is almost 18 months old now and I find it so hard to quilt when she is awake! I almost can't wait for her to grow so I can quilt more (how selfish of me, huh?)!!!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose stars tempted me....I keep meaning to go back but get lead astray into other areas.
There are people with big machines who will quilt this for you. In your condition it might be a treat!
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNettie, this is truely lovely! So delicate and fresh colour combination :) Love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the basting: I totally follow you, having 20 days or so myself to estimated time of delivery of my baby... :))
I love this quilt top! I'm pregnant also, a little ways behind you, and our nursery is orange and aqua. So I have a soft spot for these colors right now!
ReplyDeleteOOHH! Love the blue and orange. Very aesthetically appealing.
ReplyDeleteit looks FABULOUS!!!! i REALLY love the color combo!! amandajean really inspires just about everybody!! :) she's good that way!! i started my blog because of her too!:)
ReplyDeletewow. this looks so great! i love the aqua/teal and orange togheter. great combo.
ReplyDeleteGreat job. I think your color choices are absolutely right on. Can't wait to see it quilted.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!! Well done, and great color choices :-) Have you tried spray basting? I used to pin, now I use spray adhesive (specically made for quilts) makes the process WAY faster, and easier.... much easier to QUILT too - no pins to watch out for. I highly recommend it, anyhow :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you and the soon-to-arrive baby!! How exciting! I'll be in your shoes in about.... 6 months!
really really beautiful nettie! the color combo is perfect, and your stars are all so beautiful! i could just sit and gaze at this one for a long time!
ReplyDeleteGood plan Nettie :)!! I basted a quilt when 30 weeks pregnant (twice - I didn't get it right the first time) and by the end of it after being on my hands and knees for 4 hours pinning, I couldn't stand up for the life of me! haha I was trying to get my little boy to shift (he was breach) but it didn't work!! This quilt will be gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteit's awesome! pretty colors!
ReplyDeletei didn't realize you were expecting a baby....congrats! do you know what you are having? are you revealing your due date?
take care!
wow, i love the colors! the white just makes everything so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so beautiful. Lovely quilt!!
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad you did finish the top, the colors just pop...it really is super fun!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt colours are just stunning! I love it!
ReplyDeleteMicki
Its your choice of complements that make it sparkle. I wish you the best in your upcoming motherhood.
ReplyDeleteWhat great colors. I would never have thought to put orange and blue together but it truly makes this unisex.
ReplyDeleteLove it and can't wait to see how you quilt it.
Gorgeous! I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is simply beautiful! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh it's so pretty and soft. Great work!
ReplyDeleteit's lovely! congrats! hope the delivery is a breeze
ReplyDeleteI know you were contemplating changing the setting blocks to orange but I think you made the right choice in keeping the blue. I love how it makes the star block pop and allows the setting blocks to give a great secondary pattern to the quilt. Great job! I absolutely love it and will be keeping the color scheme in mind for a future quilt.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the baby.
Love the colors! turq and orange! I tried that combo but mine is hiding in a bin never to see the light of day again... not lovely like this !!! I love it! Makes me wan to try the combo one more time!!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love red and aqua but orange and aqua rocks! I love this.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. The color combo is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThis is... by far... the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. I love it.
