This one is a special order through my etsy shop. I just love coin quilts.
Lots of white, and lots of scraps...
i really like the backing...
My only goal for this year is to finish all my quilts that are currently 'in progress' before I start any new ones (unless it's a custom order or for a new baby). I am currently working on this one.
I just rememered another goal...I really need to use my stash. Lately there has been too much coming in (fabric) and too little going out (quilts).

Cute quilt! Love the colors.
ReplyDeletethis is adorable! LOVE the backing.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful quilt! I love the backing. That is a great goal, too. Does "finish" mean quilted and bound? Because that's where I get into trouble.
ReplyDeleteI could not possibly decide which side to use as the front. I'd use both sides alternating.
ReplyDeletePretty! I love the back too.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me what is the name of that FABULOUS backing fabric! I must get some!
ReplyDeleteThat is super cute! I'm feeling the need to try one of those for myself. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove it -- its looks awesome. I have the same goals as you -- finish all my WIPs and stop buying more fabric until I use more of my currect stash!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love the quilt but I also love the backing!
ReplyDeleteI Love it, I think coin quilts are my favorite quilt, and they are a perfect use for all those smallish scraps i can't bear to throw away. I love that backing with the orange binding, its beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt!! So so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt is just beautiful! I love it!
ReplyDelete~Emily
I love your colour sense when you put your quilts together. Those corn quilts are a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had you colour spirit.
Looks great - do you have dimensions/instructions somewhere on making a coin quilt like this? I'm looking for ideas currently for a quilt for my almost 3 year old and thinking a "baby" quilt is a bit past due, so maybe more of a lap quilt size....I like the coin quilts, just can't find directions and dimensions so far anywhere. I REALLY like your backing fabric also!
ReplyDeleteLOve it LoVe It lovE iT! inside outside and all around!
ReplyDeletei also love the coin quilts!! i just finished mine last week that was inspired by you!! :) i posted about it on my new quilting blog!! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for always sharing your talent with us!!
You make a great coin quilt! That backing fabric is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteLove this one! I especially love the binding and backing fabrics. Great way to use your scraps. I have a few coins cut for my coin quilt but I need to cut a lot more.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the backing
ReplyDeleteI love a coin quilt also. I always feel a little extra pressure to quilt the white space with something spectacular though. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the backing. I have been pretty conservative with backings normally making them solids, but this year I am making an effort to go outside the square and use a brighter patterned back or piece it. I bet the person who ordered this is going to flip!
ReplyDeleteEmily, The backing fabric is from Hobby Lobby, I can't remember who makes it, but it wasn't one of the regulars.
ReplyDeleteCAB, this quilt measures approx. 42in x 52in. Each "coin" was 4.5x3in cut (I might do them a little wider next time). The white fabric measures 2.5in cut. For this quilt I cut out my coins (77 total), then cut out white coins the same size. Sew them together into alternating white, color, white color strips--7 strips total. 11 color coins and 11 white coins in each strip. Sew 2.5in white strips between the 7 strips. Add border (mine are 2.5 inches, but you can do what you like).
I hope that helps, good luck with your quilt. Let me know if you have questions. nettiepete at gmail dot com.
it's gorgous! i love lots of scraps and lots of white. the perfect combination.
ReplyDeleteAnother great quilt! You use fantastic fabrics. I recognise quite a few of them from my own stash! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am glad I read all of the comments first since you answered all of my questions. I love these coin quilts and I LOVE that backing fabric. I hope my Hobby Lobby has some of it.
ReplyDeleteI adore multi-colored fabrics with white in quilts. Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteNettie, I did some searching and I found a print called "Mod Dot" by Alexander Henry that is pretty close to your backing. Thanks for all your beautiful projects!

ReplyDeleteAwesome quilt- thanks for inspring me to make a baby quilt similar to this design. I quilted through an entire night and finished the top & bottom. Today I found 3 yards of this same backing fabric at Hobby Lobby and snatched it up for another project. It is by Brother Sister Design Studio-B24-HAO!-P15 for anyone else trying to track it down. :) Thank you.
