that's right, i found 26 fat quarters of denyse schmidt's flea market fancy line. i felt like i had won the lottery. my heart started racing, and my head started pounding (is this normal?) and i opted out of bidding and went straight to the buy it now option. (i've been burned too many times by ebay.) i have been giddy ever since!
maybe if we all sign a petition they will start manufacturing it again. i'm also hoping that since katie jump rope has been discontinued, perhaps there is something new in the works by denyse schmidt...i sure hope so.
Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteDo you have something in mind for these beauties?
OK Needless to say, I'm jealous. I checked out the site you gave me and yeah there isn't any. The ones you have there are many I'd like, but there is that one pink that I really really want!...I've wondered about Denyse S. haven't seen much from her lately.
ReplyDeletedid you get a deal?
ReplyDeleteActually I think I would get pretty excited over that bunch too. Whatcha gonna make?
ReplyDeleteoh, so pretty! can't wait to see what you create with it!
ReplyDeleteAfter donating to her Obama quilt Denyse Schmidt sent me a form thank you e-mail. I couldn't resist replying and asking about KJR and she said she's working on a new quilting weight line for fall 2009. Yay! We can only hope it's as great as her past two!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful, nettie! I almost ordered more today. but I was good. I'm back on a fabric diet. :(
ReplyDeleteyummy collection...I don't know why they don't re-release them!
ReplyDeleteU R Lucky!!! Love this and want more of it :) Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeletesuch good taste as always.
I must say that I work in a quilt store and all the lines get discontinued after only about two printing. We sometimes cannot order Moda Christmas fabric by early September anymore. It's very frustrating.
Last quilt market I met Denise Schmidt where she was presenting heavier weight version of her regular prints. I know nothing about this market... Maybe in 2009!
I am going to TRY not to be jealous but you MUST make something wonderful and share with all of us County Fair-less people out here!

I was lucky and met her and she is as beautiful a person as her fabric. What a tribute that we all adore it so much!
ReplyDeleteIt's this blogging frenzy that is only adding to my Denyse Schmidt obsession. I'm stalking ebay as I write this! The greens and blues make me swoon!

I saw that same listing, and almost bought it myself, but you were faster! I'm glad it went to you - can't wait to see what you make out of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for some of those in the mail right now! What quilt do you have in mind for them? I'm thinking squares...
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I would of done the buy it now too.
ReplyDeleteI love that line. I love the bright fun colors. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteYou must be tickled pink...and green...and blue...and...awesome, Nettie...have fun playing with your new fabric!
ReplyDeleteI too love this fabric. If you go to my blog I used some of it on the cathedral windows I have as my header
ReplyDeleteYou made me curious. It is a line I do not know.

The scrap bag would be fun but $40 postage overseas is a bit over the top. If it is only equal to 1.5 yrds it would easily fit into a global priority pack.
Never mind....shall go back to being prudent.
Aha! It was you! I found this and, for some unknown reason, didn't buy it immediately. When I went back to buy it is was gone. Serves me right for not buying it right away. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteI spent almost a $100 stocking up on discontinued Flea Market Fancy yesterday. Found a quilt shop that still had a fair bit of it around. I was so amazed that I snatched it up even though I really, really, really don't need anymore fabric.
ReplyDeletevery sweet! looking forward to seeing what comes of it :) I'm sure it'll be great!
ReplyDeleteI decided to have a little giveaway on my blog of two yards of some flea market fancy...check it out!
