This quilt is a custom order through my etsy shop. My client requested fabrics from heather ross, denyse schmidt and the wee play line from American Jane. Seriously? These are all my favorites. I am loving this quilt.
It was inspired by a recent doll quilt I made, and I can't wait to see it quilted and washed. I would love to keep this one for myself.

I am seriously loving all your quilts. You have a lovely way of mixing fabric. Anyone who gets to be cozy and comfy with a quilt made by you is one lucky person.
ReplyDeleteCute quilt. I am curious what batting you use and how close you will quilt it for a really soft, cuddly finished quilt?? Thanks in advance. Karen
ReplyDeletehi karen, i use cotton batting (usually warm and natural), and I will probably stipple this quilt (quilting about an inch apart) to give it a crinkly finish.
ReplyDeleteThough the first washing does soften the quilt, I've found that quilts usually become really soft and cuddly after they are used and loved.
hope that helps.
Beautiful quilt!! Love it!
ReplyDeletethat one is so awesome!
ReplyDeletethe quilt you gave us for Christmas (green and brown one)is just now getting really broken in. Jimi bites the corners of all our blankets, and now the corners are starting to show wear from "love" by jimi. we LOVE that quilt! perfect size and color and now that it is broken in: coziness. any other quilt would be in rags by now. although it was a bit crispy for a couple months, sturdiness is key! they last way longer.
it's beautiful. I can see why you would like to keep it for yourself!
ReplyDeleteWhy you'll just have to make yourself one then. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Have you tried the new batting by W & N for baby/crib size that is flame retardant? I plan to try it on my next baby quilt (my husband is a firefighter so it's a great idea!).When I've used W & N batting in queen quilts with lots of stippling I've noticed (and so have a couple others I made them for) that the quilts are very heavy!! For my most recent queen quilt I used Hobbs wool-and what a difference-much softer and lighter, albeit more pricey. I'm also in the process of trying the Soft & Bright-it's also lighter, made of polyester, and you can quilt farther apart.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I would have a hard time parting with it too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I love all those fabrics, and just love the way they all work together!
ReplyDeleteYou are just giving us more and more eye candy!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your quilt! They give me a "happy" feeling! Right now I have started collecting American Jane fabrics because I like the bright colors. (You know that I really don't need to collect anymore fabric!)
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
it's great...a wonderful combination of fabrics!
ReplyDeletelove it. that blue green polka dot is a favorite. I have it in yellow nd brown and am savoring it!
