twin scrappy log cabin

finally, i am finished with this quilt. i don't think i have ever been so ready to be done with a quilt. this was a slow one for me.

it measures approximately 74x90 inches (twin size), and i know i definitely prefer baby and lap size quilts. i might be done with larger quilts for a while, they are just not as fun for me. i guess i like quick fast results.

backing is apples and pears in blue.

i did a pieced binding because i just couldn't decide whether to use blue, green or yellow.

  3. It is beautiful! Love the color combo. I like the blue and green a lot, but I would never think that yellow thrown in would look this great. Love it!

    i love that you did a pieced binding...those are my fav.

    {and i have to agree with you about the bigger quilts stealing the thunder thing. lap quilts make me feel like i am accomplishing alot more.}

  11. Adorable. It's so true that big quilts are something that should only be completed one per every 3 or 4 small quilts :) well, that's my policy. Keeps me sane.

  17. I love it! I took my daughters coin quilt to a long arm quilter because I couldn't bear the thought of quilting that huge thing myself! But, then again I definitely don't have the stippling experience you have! I hope you have a nice easter!

  18. That turned out so cute! I love it! I am getting ready to do a log cabin...we'll see how it goes. Do you stick to the darks and lights rules? or do you just put in fabric you like? How do you decide which fabric will look good together?

  19. I adore this quilt. Beautiful, simple and serene. The colors are fabulous. I love the pieced binding. I just did my first pieced binding, and I think I may never go back. Twin quilts are definitely time consuming!

  20. Very nice! I love doing pieced binding, it's my new favorite trick. I don't know if i'll ever do anything bigger than a lap size. I have a hard enought time wrangling that much fabric, let alone more.
