boxed in quilt---aka ultimate scrap quilt

I finally finished this quilt, I started it months ago. I finished most of the blocks, and then it sat and sat for 6 months I'd guess. Once I picked it up again, it went together fast.My only goal with this quilt was to use up the piles of scraps that are taking over. I LOVED putting this one together, each scrap reminded me of the particular quilt I made with it (some of them years ago).
Now I love it because it's big, probably one of the top 3 biggest quilts I've made--it measures 73x64in (which i realize isn't huge, but is definitely big for me). Since we made the move from Houston (warm) to Denver (cold), I have been desperate for a quilt large enough that two can snuggle under.
I went with a simple back and binding. The front is VERY busy, so I wanted the back to be calm, and I wanted the binding to frame it. I especially LOVE the navy blue with the green back.

another coin quilt

This one is a special order through my etsy shop. I just love coin quilts.

Lots of white, and lots of scraps...
i really like the backing...

My only goal for this year is to finish all my quilts that are currently 'in progress' before I start any new ones (unless it's a custom order or for a new baby). I am currently working on this one.

I just rememered another goal...I really need to use my stash. Lately there has been too much coming in (fabric) and too little going out (quilts).

jamie's red quilt

I finished this quilt for my sister and hoped to put it in the mail today, but it's snowing pretty good here-- i'm thinking it might not be in the mail until tomorrow (sorry jamie).

The quilt is intended to be a wall hanging, so I hung it on my own wall for pics. Now I'm thinking I need a quilt to hang on my wall too. I LOVE it on the wall.

(pics are limited because I was trying to crop out the mess that is my desk that is right next to the quilt...)

more red (and a little blue)

this quilt has been in the works for a while, my sister asked me to make it for her months ago... It kept getting put on the back burner because she said there was no rush. It feels good to be making progress on it.

red white and aqua quilt

I'm feeling a little guilty about finishing a quilt when my house feels somewhat disorganized and cluttered from our move, but I had fun anyway. It was inspired by this quilt. Completely made up of scraps (except the white and the binding and backing...hmm, I guess just the squares are scraps).

This one will go to a new baby niece. Born just days after Christmas.
I realize this picture is blurry, but the little red ridinghood fabric (on the right) is one of my all time favorites. I use it very sparingly.

and the backing, pink, red and brown dots.

it has been busy and crazy.
my sewing machine has been packed away for weeks, i finally unpacked it last night.
i feel like i have been going through quilting withdrawals.
here are some doll quilts i made (before the move) for christmas gifts. i can share them now that the recipients have seen them.thanks to all those well wishers who inquired after me. i am indeed doing fine, just busy.
