peaks

This quilt reminds me of the mountains.  We moved to Texas about 6 months ago, from Colorado, and boy do we miss the mountains.  I guess we just have to vacation to them...
I pulled navy blues and grassy greens for this quilt and just cut away.  I am so happy with this color palette.  It's so pleasing to my eye.  I love green and love blue.
I'm not sure why this photo is blurry.  It's perfectly clear until I crop it (just a little bit), and then it goes blurry.  I'm using Iphoto, and have googled the problem and it seems many others have the same problem, but I can't find a solution.  It's just annoying.  I'll try to get a better picture tomorrow.
I'm not sure how or why mustaches are kind of "in" right now, but I saw this fabric at Hobby Lobby, and thought it would be fun on the back of this quilt.  My kids think it's hilarious, and since this quilt is for a baby, I think it's perfect.
I'm listing this one in my etsy shop...I can't keep every quilt I make, even though I'd like to.  :)

damon quilt

I have a big family and my husband has a big family, so there are always babies being born, which means I make a lot of baby quilts.  And I LOVE baby quilts.  they are so quick and fast.  I haven't made one for every niece or nephew, but I do my best.

My sister recently had her first baby boy and I sent this quilt off to him. I love this quilt.  I love the colors and the design. (Inspired by this one.)
I loved making these blocks.  They are really quick, and almost mindless.
I used a grey stripe for the binding
and pieced leftovers together for the backing.
I can't wait to meet little damon.
